We are proud to present a stunning instructors line-up this year:
Mel and Jo are dance enthusiasts who have been dedicating their time and efforts to encouraging Balboa in the United Kingdom.
Being familiar with lindy hop and blues, their current love is in mastering Balboa and Bal-swing - a journey in continuous learning.
Currently, you can find them social dancing and competing at various events across Europe and the United States. They are also teaching within UK/Europe and facilitate pilot sessions in the United Kingdom.
Their “down-to-earth” and positive attitude helps to make the classes they teach not only informative but also enjoyable.
Their aspirations to be ambassadors of balboa stems from a continuous learning and sharing of their passion and knowledge of the dance to enthusiasts alike.
Olga Marina is from Moscow and was born into a family of teachers (language and music) and since early years has been an energetic live wire – studying music, doing athletics, martial arts and gymnastics. Olga has been teaching and competing all over Europe and is regarded as one of the best balboa followers in Europe.
Andreas lives in Stockholm. He has been teaching, competing and performing Balboa, Lindy Hop, Charleston, Collegiate and St. Louis Shag internationally for more than a decade. Andreas is regarded as one of the top Balboa teachers and dancers of the world.
Mickey Fortanasce began swing dancing in Los Angeles in '99. A year later he was teaching local swing classes at NYU. After graduating he worked with local teams in New York including Varsity Swing and Hop Swing and a Jump and later started running his weekly dance White Heat (something he's been meaning to start up again).
Mickey and Kelly Arsenault have been dancing and competing since about 2005. During this time, their innovation and showmanship, coupled with their love of dance history and theory, have led them to become internationally recognized teachers and competitors in both Lindy Hop and Balboa. Together their winnings include repeat victories at the Balboa Redezvous for 2006, 2007 and 2010. They are 2008 ABW American Balboa Classic Champions as well as winners of the 2010 ILHC and ESDC Balboa Strictly division. Mickey and Kelly have taught extensively in the US, Canada, Europe, Korea, and Australia.
Anna-Maria started dancing ballet as a child. Since then, she is an enthusiastic dancer, open for all kinds of dances.
After her studies of literature and training as Yoga teacher, she followed her passion for swing dance and soon became a dance instructor, teaching Lindy, Balboa and authentic Jazz now since 2012.
As a well known successful competitor, she started teaching on international workshops in 2016.
